Graded Card Display Cases: Frames, Stands and What Won't Fit a Slab

A graded card display is anything that shows a slab while keeping it from being knocked, scratched or left in direct sun: a wall frame, a stand on a shelf, a rigid binder page or a slotted box on a table. Choose by where the slab will live and how many you want to show. And read the fine print before you buy anything called a "graded card display case", because some products sold under that name are sized for raw cards and will not hold a slab at all.

This guide works from the makers' own product pages as listed in September 2026, mainly BCW and Ultra PRO. We describe what each is listed to do; we don't claim to have used them.

First, check that a slab will actually fit

This is the mistake worth avoiding before anything else. Ultra PRO's six-card Black Border ONE-TOUCH display is sold on Amazon under a title that calls it a "Graded Card Display Case". Ultra PRO's own product page says it holds six standard cards up to 35 points thick. A slab is far thicker than that, so it is a display for raw cards, not graded ones. Its Amazon listing even contradicts itself, describing the same holder as fitting four cards.

The rule: look for the maker's stated fit. A slab display will name graders or give slab dimensions. A holder rated in points, such as 35pt, is for raw cards.

Wall frames

For slabs you want on the wall, individual frames are the most flexible option.

BCW's interlocking graded card frames are listed with these specs:

• Frames hook together to build a custom display wall
• They hang in portrait or landscape format
• They fit slabs up to 3 7/16" x 5 ½"
• A clear backing brace adjusts to different slab thicknesses
• BCW names PSA, BGS, SGC, CSG and HGA slabs as compatible
• Each frame is 5" x 7" x 1" with a 2 ⅞" x 4 ⅞" window, and they come four to a box

The appeal of a modular frame is that the display grows with the collection: add a frame when you add a slab, instead of buying a fixed case with empty holes.

Stands for a shelf or desk

A stand holds a single slab upright at an angle, which suits one or two favourites on a desk or bookshelf.

Ultra PRO's PSA graded card stands have a black base that holds the card at a slight angle, are sized for PSA slabs, and come ten to a pack, individually wrapped. Because they are sized for PSA's case, check the fit before using them with other graders' slabs.

Binder pages

If you would rather flip through slabs than hang them, Ultra PRO's 4-pocket page for PSA slabs holds four PSA slabs in a rigid, three-hole-punched page with lock-in tabs and finger notches. Ultra PRO notes that four pages fit a 3-inch binder, so this is display for a small showcase set, not bulk storage.

Slotted boxes and cases for shows

For a table at a card show, or a shelf where you want to browse many slabs:

• BCW's slotted graded card box is listed to hold 26 PSA, CSG, CGC and PCG slabs, with slotted sides that keep slabs visible. BCW pitches it for shows as well as home. Its product page listed it as back-ordered in September 2026.
• BCW's graded latching case is a padded carry case listed at about 70 graded slabs, with a dense foam interior, a handle and a stackable design, and BCW lists it for PSA, BGS, SGC, CSG and HGA. It is really transport with some display, not a wall piece.

If your cards aren't graded

If what you want to show is a raw card, a magnetic holder is the right display, and multi-card versions hang on a wall. Ultra PRO's six-card Black Border ONE-TOUCH is the product described above: six standard cards up to 35 points thick, a magnetic closure, sawtooth hangers on the top and side for vertical or horizontal cards, and non-PVC plastic with UV-blocking additives, according to Ultra PRO. Choosing by how many slabs you want to show

The right display depends mostly on the count.

• One or two favourites: a stand on a desk or shelf. It is the cheapest option, and the slab is easy to pick up and look at.
• A handful that belong together: wall frames, added one at a time. Modular frames like BCW's let a player run or a set of rookies grow into a wall.
• A set you want to browse: rigid binder pages. They keep slabs flat and protected, and a binder closes against dust.
• Dozens, at a show or on a table: a slotted box or a padded carry case, where people can see many slabs at once.

Match the display to your graders

Some displays are made for one grader's case and some for many. Ultra PRO's stands and binder pages above are sized for PSA slabs, while BCW lists its frames and latching case for PSA, BGS, SGC, CSG and HGA. If your collection mixes graders, favour displays that name all of them, or check each maker's listed dimensions against a ruler and your own slabs before you buy.

Where to put a display

• Out of direct sunlight. Sunlight can fade printed cards over time, and a display is by definition somewhere light reaches. A wall that never gets direct sun is the safest choice.
• Away from heat and damp: not above radiators or in bathrooms, garages or basements.
• Secured properly. Use hardware rated for the weight of a frame full of slabs, and hang frames where they can't be knocked off a shelf or a door.
• Easy to dust without handling the slabs.

Ultra PRO says its ONE-TOUCH holders use UV-blocking additives, and TAG lists UV protection as a feature of its slabs. We didn't find a UV claim for other graders' slabs on the pages we checked, so don't assume a slab protects a card from sunlight.

Display vs storage

Display is for the few slabs you want to see every day. Everything else is better off in a sleeve, upright, in a closed box, as covered in our guide to storing graded cards. The display case is the last rung on the protection ladder: the card is already safe in its slab, and the display's job is to keep the slab safe while you enjoy it.

What we couldn't confirm

• How much UV any display in this guide blocks. None of the makers publishes a figure on the pages we read.
• Whether PSA, SGC or CGC slabs have any UV protection. Their pages we checked make no such claim.
• The exact fit of PSA-sized stands and pages with other graders' slabs. Check the maker's listed dimensions against your slabs.

FAQ

Will a graded card fit in a ONE-TOUCH magnetic holder? Not in the standard ones. Ultra PRO rates its ONE-TOUCH holders by card thickness in points, such as 35pt, and its six-card Black Border display holds six standard cards up to 35 points. A slab is far thicker, so use a frame, stand or case made for slabs.

How do I hang graded cards on a wall? Use frames made for slabs. BCW's interlocking graded card frames, for example, fit slabs up to 3 7/16" x 5 ½", hook together into a larger display and hang in portrait or landscape format.

Do graded card slabs protect against UV light? It depends on the grader, and most don't say. TAG lists UV protection as a feature of its slabs; we found no UV claim on the other graders' pages we checked. Keep any displayed slab out of direct sunlight.
